Bealeton and Warrenton Clutch Replacement
On a manual transmission vehicle the clutch is what allows the engine to disengage from the transmission. This allows the vehicle to start off from a stop, shift between gears, and come to a stop without turning the engine off. Issues with the clutch or it’s hydraulic system can result in an inability to engage gears properly when shifting as well as complete loss of forward propulsion. On some vehicles the clutch requires periodic adjustments to keep it in the proper operating range. When it is time for a clutch replacement, we replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing, along with the rear main seal. We also send the flywheel to the machine shop to be resurfaced to ensure a chatter free engagement. Inspection of the hydraulics and adjustment of the pedal are done as we reinstall the clutch.
